Hehl-muht

Conor found his bicycle helmet and fell in love. Hard. He wouldn't part with the thing for two days. We had to dispose of it when he wasn't looking before bed. And finally he was told that it had to go live out in the garage with momma' and dada's helmets. He was "ok" with that...after a good cry.

Helmet's and brocoli. Conor wouldn't even take off this helmet to eat!

Happy Boy!

A comparison

Car rides & Mah-gah-zeens & TRACTORS!!

Some light reading material for the road.

Making sure the car is operational while Nana looks on.
Nana, Conor, Papa, and, of course, the TRACTOR!!

Kayaks

We recently brought our Kayaks back to the mainland from Whidbey Island. They were in need of a bath to rid them of some salt spray. Conor loved this idea. He helped.

Conor also felt his little garden cart needed a wash too.

Conor's cupboard and chair fort

In order to accomplish anything in the kitchen these days I have found that giving Conor his own cupboard keeps him pretty distracted for a few minutes at least! He has the end cupboard, which is the only one not latched (however, we went several weeks without having to childproof the other ones, he just learned that this cupboard was his). There are lots of great things in there - leftover containers and their lids, trivets, salad spinner, miscellaneous kitchen utensils, and travel mugs. I also like to stick odds and ends in there every once in a while to keep the curiosity going.

Conor checking out what the cupboard holds today.

Showing his cupboard to the camera.

Making sure that each item gets an equal amount of time on the floor.

The other day Conor crawled (with his toy of the day, a spoon) on his belly underneath the horizontal bars of a kitchen chair. He promptly sat up and played for a little bit in his little fort. He couldn't figure out how to get out of this contraption, but he did find some fun games to play with his spoon and a bouncy ball. In the above picture he is "tossing" his spoon over the horizontal bar.

Here he is retrieving the spoon and a bouncy ball.
And here he is showing some love to his spoon.

Crawl and Slide

Not only is Conor an established crawler now, he also likes to take things wherever he goes. In fact, it is very out of the norm for him to go somewhere in the house without "sliding" or rolling something in his hands. His favorites are definitely cars. They seem to cause the least resistance! Here are some example pics...
Here is Conor's favorite possesion. This goes everywhere with him. He takes it to check on the laundry drying in the dryer, to see Bailey, to check out Coal on the back porch, and to wake up Paddington by banging it on her cage. He can even push the driver's head down to roll it. However, he hasn't figured out how to let it go on purpose yet! Today I found him laying on top of it and sucking the headlights. It is even a teether!
One day he found some hot pink binding that I was going to use for a blanket I was making. That was very cool. He took it for a ride on his scooter, held it while pushing his walker, and to bang on the window to say hi to Coal. Cheap toys!
He loves playing with Bailey's toys. He loves to watch her play with them too. we have also found him mimicking what Bailey does with them - he chews them. he also mimicks what we do with Bailey's toys - he tries to give them to her. Above he is trying to give Bailey her toy. Somehow the toy is not as exciting to Bailey when it is in Conor's hands! She eventually went back to the toy after Conor got tired of it and sniffed it...and picked it up and walked away with it.

This morning this box was all the rage to push around. Especially with things in it. yes and if you look closely, his favorite car is in there too. Again, cheap toys!

Conor Drivin'

Conor has developed a love for driving. Well, for at least pretending he is at the wheel. He usually ends up at the reins in the ferry line while we wait to board. Here are a few pictures taken throughout the summer.

First time at the wheel!

It tastes pretty good.

I am getting to be a pro dad! Hands at 10 and 2!

Just checkin' the speed.

Smile for mom! Look I'm drivin'!

Wallace Falls

Well, now that we are mostly done with vacations (and hopefully extremely hot weather) I will get back on track with blogging. Here are some pictures from a Sunday hiking adventure that we took to Wallace Falls in Monroe. Conor had a new backpack for the trip and Tim and I were just happy to back doing what we enjoy doing.

On the way up to the falls. Caught Conor sucking his thumb. It worked to put him to sleep, but we haven't seem him use it much sense then!

Up at the lower falls. Conor sucking his thumb again.

A bee thought it would be fun to sting me in my arm. I didn't think it was all that much fun. The welt was huge!

Conor sleeping on the way back to the car.

Successful hiking trip!

Cute Band-aids = Vaccination Time!

Yesterday was Conor's 4 month appt with the doc. His numbers were very respectable. 15% weight, 75% height, and 40% head. Way to go my boy! The Band-aids this time were - Daffey Duck and Buggs Bunny. They crack me up!

Random Conor Pics

Here is a wide collection of Conor pics since I posted last back in May.

Those are some cute pj's, my little boy!

Conor trying out G-ma Sullivan's cute sweater outfit she knitted for him.

New ride for Conor. Check it.

The boys don't seem to want to smile for the camera. These kinda look like driver's license photos, no? Or maybe a pitchfork would complete the look?

Take one more step and I'll...

So Cool...

When you're cool...the sun shines on you 24 hours a day (dude, you should tell your mom to take the UV sticker off the glasses...).

Thanks for the M's hat G-ma!

Would this be considered an oxymoron?

Sleep

Since Conor is having the struggle with daytime sleep these days, I wanted to post some sleep pictures of him to remind ME that it can happen...sometimes...they are pretty cute. Enjoy!
Conor waking up from a nap recently. The hands always have to be up!
The Cougar Cub in his sleepy slumber.
Taking a cat nap on the floor. Those were the days...
This was back when we solved the first sleep issue...getting to sleep...he was a constant companion to Nana Brice while she was knitting on the couch so I could do some sewing. Now as I hear it...the knitting needle was only put down for the picture.
Waking up from another nap with his "old man" pants on. No offense to any "old men" out there.
This is from the good ol' days. A day old in the hospital and passed out!

Can we say "Ouch"??

Conor had his first round of vaccinations yesterday at his two month checkup. Poor kid. I have never seen that shade of red on his face before. After giving us the what for, he took his soothie from me, turned his skin color back to ghostly white, and promptly went to sleep for his longest nap since he was a newborn!
This pic was taken that night just to record how cute his little bandaids were from the event. One was Daffy Duck and the other was Charlie Brown in a space suit. Very cute. He was crying from an un-related matter. Probably something to do with a diaper change that he didn't agree with.

Conor's first cabin trip

This past weekend we decided it was time to show Conor what life on the Island is like. Whidbey Island to be exact. So we planned a nice long weekend so he could really get the hang of it. I think he did all right! There was some adjusting to temperature, the cabin is a bit cooler than his nice warm room at home, the walks are a little chillier since the air comes right off the ocean, but there are so many cool things to see and look at!

For some reason Conor didn't seem to like this mode of travel. Maybe the carseat isn't that bad after all...

Here is Tim and Conor (brown hoodie) on one of our daily walks on the beach. Despite our pessimistic attitude about it raining (note umbrella) it only spit on us. After we got back from this particular walk, the skies cleared and the sun came out. Sweet sauce!

A very tired guy...who is also a lil' Coug.

Bailey found a pretty short stick this time for our walk. Usually, they are at least 6 feet long. I still don't know how she goes 3 miles with a 6 foot long stick.

Since I have been "banned" from the likes of chocolate and dairy products by the little guy in the photo, I decided to take up eating ginger snaps on the island (apparently snickerdoodles are not popular fanfare at the local grocery mart). And no, I didn't eat the whole bag while I was up there.

Since it is a little chillier up at the cabin, the lil' guy had to learn about keeping himself warm (good prep for camping trips). We decided that a nice cozy fleece sleeper will help the process. Where's mine??

The return of "Gooferious"!!! And ferocious as ever!
