Conor's cupboard and chair fort

In order to accomplish anything in the kitchen these days I have found that giving Conor his own cupboard keeps him pretty distracted for a few minutes at least! He has the end cupboard, which is the only one not latched (however, we went several weeks without having to childproof the other ones, he just learned that this cupboard was his). There are lots of great things in there - leftover containers and their lids, trivets, salad spinner, miscellaneous kitchen utensils, and travel mugs. I also like to stick odds and ends in there every once in a while to keep the curiosity going.

Conor checking out what the cupboard holds today.

Showing his cupboard to the camera.

Making sure that each item gets an equal amount of time on the floor.

The other day Conor crawled (with his toy of the day, a spoon) on his belly underneath the horizontal bars of a kitchen chair. He promptly sat up and played for a little bit in his little fort. He couldn't figure out how to get out of this contraption, but he did find some fun games to play with his spoon and a bouncy ball. In the above picture he is "tossing" his spoon over the horizontal bar.

Here he is retrieving the spoon and a bouncy ball.
And here he is showing some love to his spoon.

Wisdom and Chubby Cheeks

Last week, the big event was the extinction of Tim's wisdom teeth. Along the way, we experienced the ups and downs of swelling. It got to the point where I had to do a double take when I saw Tim because he looked so different!! Below is a selection of pictures showing the swelling. Enjoy!

Tim before the operation. Narrow face and all!
A few hours after surgery.
The day after surgery. Conor is excited too.
Two days after surgery.
Three days after surgery before leaving for work.
6 days after surgery. Almost back to normal and you can't really tell but the yellow remnants of bruising. And Conor is happier too with his new winter hat that G-ma knitted him.

Crawl and Slide

Not only is Conor an established crawler now, he also likes to take things wherever he goes. In fact, it is very out of the norm for him to go somewhere in the house without "sliding" or rolling something in his hands. His favorites are definitely cars. They seem to cause the least resistance! Here are some example pics...
Here is Conor's favorite possesion. This goes everywhere with him. He takes it to check on the laundry drying in the dryer, to see Bailey, to check out Coal on the back porch, and to wake up Paddington by banging it on her cage. He can even push the driver's head down to roll it. However, he hasn't figured out how to let it go on purpose yet! Today I found him laying on top of it and sucking the headlights. It is even a teether!
One day he found some hot pink binding that I was going to use for a blanket I was making. That was very cool. He took it for a ride on his scooter, held it while pushing his walker, and to bang on the window to say hi to Coal. Cheap toys!
He loves playing with Bailey's toys. He loves to watch her play with them too. we have also found him mimicking what Bailey does with them - he chews them. he also mimicks what we do with Bailey's toys - he tries to give them to her. Above he is trying to give Bailey her toy. Somehow the toy is not as exciting to Bailey when it is in Conor's hands! She eventually went back to the toy after Conor got tired of it and sniffed it...and picked it up and walked away with it.

This morning this box was all the rage to push around. Especially with things in it. yes and if you look closely, his favorite car is in there too. Again, cheap toys!
